300 and Counting!
Wow, I just took a look at the pouring list for WhiskyFest™ San Francisco, and there will be more than 300 whiskies poured on October 7 at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis! (Okay, so I didn’t just look at the list, I counted it.)
This is another record-breaker for San Francisco, along with a record number of exhibitors, a record number of Craft Distillers, and selling out of VIP tickets in record time.
What a fantastic opportunity WhiskyFest is for the whisky lovers of the world. Be sure to buy your tickets soon, because this event will sell out soon!
Changing it up in San Francisco
Try something different at WhiskyFest San Francisco… Instead of a seminar, Laphoaig will be hosting a “Laphroaig Mixology Contest”. Local members of the US Bartender’s Guild will showcase their favorite cocktails using… you guessed it… Laphroaig. The contest will be judged by the dynamic Malt Master Ambassador Simon Brooking.
San Francisco VIP Sold Out!
Yes, the VIP tickets to WhiskyFest San Francisco have sold out. But no worries, Regular admission tickets are still available.
With 11 seminars, a gourmet buffet all evening, a dozen craft distillers, and well over 250 whiskies (not to mention beer, cognac, tequila, rum, gin, vodka, and genever), there will be plenty of fun waiting for you at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis. Order your tickets today at www.whiskyfest.com.
Four Roses Bourbon
The more you know about what you’re sipping, the more you’ll appreciate it… Four Roses will be well represented at both WhiskyFest San Francisco and New York.
“Four Roses is the only Bourbon Distillery that combines 5 proprietary yeast strains with two separate mashbills toroduce 10 distinct Bourbon Recipes, each with their own unique character, spiciness, and rich fruity flavors. All 10 of these recipes are gently aged undisturbed in new white oak barrels in our one-of-a-kind single story rack warehouses. All 10 recipes are expertly married together to create Four Roses Yellow. Four are married for Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon. Only one is hand selected for Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon. No other distillery has 10 Bourbon recipes. So enjoy our Bourbon with the knowledge that you are sipping something truly unique – and uniquely Four Roses.” www.fourroses.us
See what Four Roses, and others, will be pouring at WhiskyFest San Francisco.
Take up the hunt at WhiskyFest
As you approach the Ardbeg booth, and hold out your glass for a dram, you may find yourself encountering something unusual. This creature has been aged in barrels with an “Alligator” char. It has a “leathery texture” and a “creamy vanilla underbelly”. Go hunting at WhiskyFest, and until then, you can read more about it here.
We’re Not Crying Wolf
One week after announcing that WhiskyFest™ New York VIP tickets were getting limited, the VIP tickets sold out. We were not exaggerating. Well, guess what? Now the San Francisco VIP tickets are getting limited. So if you were planning on attending WhiskyFest San Francisco on October 7 as a VIP ticket holder, I suggest you purchase your ticket soon.
Willie Tait is quite a character
But don’t take my word for it; read A Round With… in Malt Advocate
magazine volume 17, number 4. He’ll happily tell you what’s worn under his kilt, and when asked if he was better looking than Bruichladdich’s Jim McEwan, this was his answer (in part):
Perhaps Jim is better looking, and even if he wasn’t, he could convince you he is.
But don’t let his sense of humor fool you. Willie’s involvement with Jura began 36 years ago when he took on the role of Tunroom Man. He moved on to Mash/Stillman, Assistant Distillery Manager, and Distillery Manager. Over the course of Willie’s career he has passionately crafted some truly special single malts.
We are pleased to announce that Willie Tait will be conducting a tasting seminar at both WhiskyFest™ San Francisco and New York. Come see what makes Isle of Jura unique, and meet the legendary Willie Tait.
